Elder Ricky (Roach)

Ricky (Roach) Elder passed on April 4, 2018 in Holly Hill, FL due to complications following a strong bout with cancer. Ricky was born on August 14, 1957 in Flint, MI. Parents, Mother Faye (Cavin) Elder and Father Tom Elder. He graduated from Beecher High School in 1975, and in 1976, he started working for AC Spark Plug (Delphi) and retired after 30 years.

Rick’s unabashed love for riding motorcycles carried him to joining and founding two charters for the Flint & Shiawassee areas, local Harley Owners Group. Upon his retirement in 2006, he moved to Daytona Beach with his wife Kelly. Ricky joined the Daytona 200 M/C, where he began his journey into the love of community and brotherhood. He served in several capacities for the club, such as president and treasurer, but found his passion as camping coordinator for his fellow bikers. Roach had a love for guns, in particular one manufacturer, Kel-Tec, which included him in moderating the Kel-Tec website/forum for fellow enthusiasts. He enjoyed his daily walks with his little buddies, Jake and Bobby, which led him to a Cwonderful group of people at the Riviera Oaks Dog Park.

Roach is survived by his wife Kelly Roberts Elder; Son Thomas Elder, his brothers, Michael & David Elder, his sons by another Wilbur & Kirk Hilton and 5 grandchildren, along with nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his Father and Mother.
