Obituary

Robert Allan Kleve, 83 of Fort Myers, FL., passed away August 29, 2023. He was born on January 1, 1940 to Harold (Lucille McElhinney) Kleve in Evanston, Illinois.

Bob was a charter boat captain, who was also an avid golfer.  He was a charter member of the Moose Club of Fort Myers Beach for over 20 years.

Bob was a man who stood out in the crowd, with his sparkling sea blue colored eyes and his Redford smile. He was extremely handsome, smart, intelligent, and a successful businessman with a wonderful sense of humor. He lived life to the fullest (he did it “My Way”). In 1979, he married the love of his life, Nicole Less. They had a storybook life. Bob said, “they were like Bogey & Bacall”.  He and his wife were one of the first members of Fiddlesticks Country Club they loved to play golf together.  He loved his children and family.

Bob will be deeply missed by his wife of 44 years, Nicole; children, Cheryl (Lyle) Baier, Ronald (Lisa) Kleve, Jacqueline Kleve, Philip Ledbetter and Teresa Ledbetter and many grandchildren; sister-in-law, Patricia “Patty Cake” (Phillip) Bauer. He is preceded in death by his daughters, Kristin & Shawne Ledbetter.

There are no words that console one when they lose the love of their life! My heart hurts for you. You and Bob were the couple everyone envied. Your love for each other was such a gift from God! There was a glow around you that couldn’t be denied. He will always be watching over you and be in your heart ❤️

    There are places I'll remember
All my life, though some have changed
    Some forever, not for better
Some have gone and some remain

All these places had their moments, I still can recall
Some are dead and some are living
In my life, I've loved them all

    But of all these friends
There is no one compares with you
And these memories lose their meaning
Though I know I'll never lose affection
For people and things that went before
I know I'll often stop and think about them
In my life, I love you more.

I am going to miss you so much. I have missed you for the past few years. You were the best Brother in law. You taught me so much from Patsy Cline to Craps to beyond and just how to be. So many of the great memories of my life included you. When you lost your only sister, i told you that you still had one , me. It is true . Please rest in peace and watch over my sister. I love you to heaven and back. I will see you again. I love you. P

Bob really did light up a room when he walked in. He always had a smile on his face. He was my sister Nicole's soul mate, always together. He will be truly missed by everyone who loved him.
