Obituary
Robert Allen Schloss passed away on December 1, 2021, in Ocala Florida. He was born on June 4, 1929, in Brooklyn, New York to Robert B Schloss and Lillian Allen Schloss. He was a member of First United Methodist Church in Ocala. He was also an Army veteran and served in the Korean War in 1950. He Retired from New Jersey Bell Telephone Company, was a fire chief with the Macopin Fire Department, Past Master of Silentia Lodge in Butler, New Jersey, a Schreiner with Morocco Shrine Temple, Jacksonville, Florida, was past president of KWVA, Ocala, Florida and a member of the Eastern Star Chapter #29, Ocala, Florida.
He lost his loving guide dog “Abbott” ten days prior to his own passing.
Robert is preceded in death by his first wife, Sophia Marie Horwath Schloss, his parents, Robert and Lillian Schloss, sister, June Schloss Nash (Claude). and stepson Alton Lum.
He is survived by his wife Louise F. Schloss, Ocala, Florida; sons Robert J. Schloss, Ponte Vedra, Florida; Douglas A. Schloss, Jacksonville, Florida; Paul D. Schloss (Lourdes) Eustis, Florida. Grandsons Tighe D. Schloss (Sheila Marie) Middleburg, Florida; Mathieun. Schloss, St. Augustine, Florida; stepdaughter Angela Lum Dodson, Terry, Mississippi. Step grandsons Tanner J Dodson (Hannah) Crystal Springs, Mississippi; Tyler J. Dodson (Adriana) Terry, Mississippi. Step granddaughters Emily Lum holiday (Hunter) Brandon, Mississippi; Stephanie Harper (Darin) Palm Coast, Florida; Alexandria Bogaert, St. Augustine, Florida. Step great granddaughters Ava James Holiday, Brandon, Mississippi; Ellie Jo Dodson, Crystal Springs, Mississippi; Riley Harper, Palm Coast, Florida; Cannon Harper, Palm Coast, Florida. Two nieces and three nephews. Brother-in-law Jimmy Federick; Jerry (Judy) Federick and sister-in-law Jan (Allen) Holmes.
Visitation for Robert will take place on Saturday, December 11, 2021, 10:00-!!:00 a.m. with a funeral service at 11 AM at Baldwin Brothers Timber Ridge Chapel with Rev. Anne Fuquay and Rev. Joanne Dyson officiating. Burial will take place on Friday, December 17, 2021, at Craig Memorial Park, St. Augustine, Florida with Military Honors at 11:00 a.m.
In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the Southeastern Guide Dog School, Palmetto, Florida, Hospice of Marion County, Ocala, Florida, Paddock Animal Care Center, Ocala, Florida, First United Methodist Church, Ocala, Florida, Disabled American Veterans.
