Robert William Anderson III, who was well known as “Rob”, the soaring eagle with a broken wing, went to his heavenly inheritance on July 10, 2024, in New Smyrna Beach, Florida, at the age of 68. He was born on February 11, 1956, in Southington, Connecticut, to Robert W. Anderson Jr. and Elizabeth C. Hlavka Anderson.
Rob leaves behind a legacy cherished by his surviving family members: his loving sister Christine Anderson, brother-in-law Thomas Macklosky, nephew Trenton Anderson, ex-wife Carey, stepson Steven, and numerous cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents, uncle Alfred Anderson, and cousin Sean P. Anderson.
Rob was a skilled Master Plumber and operated his business, R.W. Plumbing, after graduating from E. C. Goodwin Technical School. His dedication to his trade and commitment to quality service earned him the respect of his community and colleagues.
With his prior membership affiliation with the Knights of Columbus, Moose, and American Legion, Rob found joy in service and camaraderie. His faith was a cornerstone of his life, evident in his participation in church activities and his profound belief in God’s grace.
A Mass and Social to celebrate Rob’s life will be held on July 22, 2024, at 1:00 pm at Our Lady of the Sea, 400 S Atlantic Ave, New Smyrna Beach, Florida. A Catholic Mass and burial will take place in his hometown of Southington, Connecticut, at the discretion of the family.
In reflecting on the beauty of friendship, Rob often found solace in the words of C. S. Lewis: “Friendship is the instrument by which God reveals to each of us the beauties of others.” Through his friendships and relationships, Robert touched many lives and will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
