Obituary

Robert Benjamin Wood, Jr., age 81, died of natural causes on December 19, 2020 in Apopka, Florida. Linda Lee Warner Wood, age 78, died of natural causes on February 14, 2021 in Apopka, Florida. Robert and Linda are survived by Robert’s brother, Kenneth, their daughter, Dena, their son, Rodney, their daughter, Teri, eight grandchildren, and one great-grandchild. Robert is preceded in death by his parents, Kip and Helen Conyne. Linda is preceded in death by her parents, Donald and Evelyn Warner.

Robert was born on September 26, 1939 in Barnesville, Georgia to parents Helen and Robert Wood Sr., and was later adopted by Kip. He attended military school, and then joined the U.S. Air Force. After serving his country, he worked for several companies including Exxon/Quip, Boeing at Kennedy Space Center, and finally Walt Disney World, after which he opened his own home-repair business.

Linda was born on February 23, 1942 in Key West, Florida to parents Evelyn and Robert, and was later adopted by Donald Warner. After graduating high school, she worked as a bookkeeper for a short time, before deciding to stay home to raise her children.

Robert and Linda were married in Orlando, Florida in 1963, where they raised their three children and were very active in church.  They were both devoted to their family, and loved the Lord fervently, and considered it their life’s mission to bring as many new believers into the Kingdom of Heaven as possible.

A joint memorial service is scheduled for Robert and Linda on June 5, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. at Apopka Assembly of God Church, where Pastor Kevin Craig will officiate. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Robert and Linda’s lives. Flowers can be sent to AAOG, 951 N. Park Ave., Apopka, Florida  32712, or donations can be made to Vitas Community Connections.
