In loving memory of Robert "Bob" Ellis Grignon

Obituary

Robert Ellis Grignon (Bob) on August 6, 2018, lost his long battle with cancer. Born the fourth son to Gilbert Paul Grignon and Rose Ostuni Grignon on February16, 1943. At the age of 3 he contracted polio and spent 18 months at St. Charles Hospital, Port Jefferson, New York until he was well enough to resume living with his family in North Port, New York. Bob attended Northport High School and Hicksville School of Cosmetology. Bob was considered a gifted hair-designer. He owned and operated two salons on Long Island, New York before moving to Florida in 1998. Before retiring in 2012, he was employed by JC Penny’s salon and Calvetti & Co. Day Spa located in Vero Beach, FL.

Bob is survived by his wife of 51 years, Barbara Silvani Grignon; their three loving children: Monica Lynn Calero, Robert E. Grignon, II. And Bart Gilbert Grignon. Bob adored his 5 grandchildren, Phoenix Jones Grignon, Patrick and Mikayla Thompson, Dominick and Addelynn Grignon, as well as great-grandson, Brentley Colt Thompson; also son-in-law, Gabriel, and daughters-in-law, Jessica and Mandi. Also survived are his brother, Michael Grignon, three sisters-in-law, as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Bob enjoyed family gatherings, music, dancing and volunteering for the Elks’ St. Patrick’s Day parade as a clown with his friends from The Sanctuary in Vero Beach, FL. Bob also took part in the ushering team at Riverside Theater there in Vero Beach, FL. He was best known as “Green Thumb Bob” for his gardening achievements or Mr. Personality! He was well loved!

He has enjoyed all his new friends at Mid-Florida Lakes where he has been living for the last two years.

Bob is predeceased by his parents and three brothers, Gilbert, Richard and John Grignon.

Services for Bob will be at 10:00 AM at St. Helen’s Catholic Church located at 2025 20th Ave, Vero Beach, FL 32960, on August 25, 2018. Directions to the church are included in the map application below.
