Obituary

Robert “Bobby” Girouard, of Port Orange, born in New Bedford, MA on September 3, 1957 to the late Armand Girouard and Diane (Lariviere) Girouard, passed away after a courageous battle on August 28, 2017. Bobby was preceded in death by his brother, Paul Girouard.  He is survived by three sisters, Susan Jeffries (Matthew), Renee Harmon (Jason) all of Port Orange, and Lisa Benson of Hawaii; two brothers, Albert Girouard of New Bedford, MA and David Girouard of Tallahassee, along with several nieces and nephews and many good friends in Florida and New Bedford, MA. Bobby was last employed by Don Bell Signs, as a sign installer.  Bobby enjoyed life to the fullest.  His favorite past times were family gatherings, camping, fishing, watching his beloved Boston Red Sox’s and New England Patriots, and long quiet walks on the beach.  Bobby was a loving son, brother, and uncle and will be greatly missed by his family and close friends.  Bobby wanted to extend a special thanks to Dr. Warner, Dawn, Arica, Christine and staff who took exceptional care and time with him over the last twenty years.  A special thanks to VITAS Home Hospice and their caring staff and Coastal Rehabilitation Center.  He was a fighter to the very end, and won the battle. Bobby requested no service to be held, and to honor his passing in your own special way.  His wish is to be cremated and his ashes spread in the ocean.

    Bobby

I'll never forget the memories and adventures we shared since 1979. Weather it was weekends in NH with friends, a round of golf in Fl with brother Paul, or a simple day at the beach with all the kids. You lived your life to the fullest, and when things got tough you surprised us all with your will to live. Your sister and I are grateful you chose to live the last 2 years of your life with us. RIP brother I'll never forget you

    Matt

Uncle Boobie... you are one of the most amazing and courageous men that I have ever met. I regret the time that I didn't get to spend with you over the last few years and it's weighing heavily on my heart. At least I know that you are no longer in pain and you are with your dad, Memere, and uncle Paul camping in heaven prob playing horseshoes having a good ol time. Thank you for all of the laughs and for loving me unconditionally. I Love you more than you know. Love, Tara

Bobby I love you. Thank you for helping raise me to be a strong, confident woman. Though not in genes, you were my father and I will always think of you in that way. I have so many great memories from fishing to camping to you not holding back when teaching me to catch a ball! My funniest memory is you teaching me how to drive... sorry for scaring you :) You helped moved me to California even though you weren't happy about me moving away. Not one to show sympathy but ALWAYS compassionate and honest, I think some of that may have rubbed off on me and I thank you. You are forever in my heart. I love you.

I've never met a stronger, more courageous man in my life. Thank you for taking care of me when Dad died. I was only 10, and you stepped up. We went to Fenway, camping, Horseneck Beach, you took me everywhere. You are the best big brother in the world. My heart is breaking every minute, but I will forever cherish the last 7 months, our talks, our disagreements (lol) and being able to accept and say I love you before you passed. I love you Bobby. Home will never be the same without you. Fly high with God and the Angels and finally Rest in Peace. See you on the flip side Bro. We got this down here, fully knowing you are watching over us. Give Mom and Dad, family and friends my love in Heaven. I know you are already stirring it up, up there. Peace Bobby. I love you to the moon and back .
    Love, your sister, Renee
