Robert Clair Spellman, 92, of New Smyrna Beach died Friday, November 28, 2008 at his home with his family by his side. Mr. Spellman was born March 7, 1916 in Ohio. He was a veteran of the US Army serving during WW II. Mr. Spellman worked for the Ohio Department of Transportation for many years retiring as Assistant Supervisor. After retirement he moved to New Smyrna Beach in 1995. Mr. Spellman was a member of the American Legion, Hanover, OH and enjoyed gardening, golf, fishing and a special love of archery. He was preceded in death by his wife, Frances, son, Bobby and daughter, Barbara. Mr. Spellman is survived by two devoted daughters, Clara and son-in-law, Richard Kordeleski and Connie and son-in-law, Gerard Bousquet all of New Smyrna Beach; eight grandchildren, seventeen great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren.
