Obituary
Robert P. (Copie) Copenhefer, age 84, passed away September 6, 2016, in Leesburg, FL. He was born in Cincinnati, OH and grew up in New Paris. Copie worked for Reynolds & Reynolds Company for 41 years, having started as a mail boy, he worked his way up in the company and retired in 1989 as Senior V.P. and General Manager of the Business Forms Division, Dayton, OH. Moved to Florida in 1991, enjoyed golf, fishing and always had a limerick for every occasion. Copie was a member of the Masonic Alpha Lodge #729. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Deborah J. Copenhefer in 1987. Survived by his wife of 28 years, Sue Copenhefer; daughters, Nancy Smith, GA; Sharon (Ed) Naumaskis, FL and Janet Rhodes, TN; step-daughter Alison McCool Hostler (Stuart) AZ; three grandsons, Robert Smith, GA; Maxwell Rhodes and Zachary Rhodes, TN. Other than family members, he will be remembered by many friends and colleagues, and close friend, Tim (Charlotte) Cantrell. Anyone who knew Copie would say he was “Plum Good.” A private celebration of life, will be determined by the family at a later date.
Copie was a leader but still able to enjoy the rank and file in daily conversation. Looks like he had a good life after Reynolds and that is what retirement is all about.
As we all get older it is hard to see friends and fellow Reynolds personnel pass on, but it is all part of life.
Glad to see your daughter got married and had children. Being a grandmother is what it is all about.....
If you get a chance, stay in touch.
So sorry to read of the loss of your dad. May wonderful memories bring you comfort.
Love,
Freda Mae
