Robert Gardner Duncan (Bob)
February 06, 1945 – October 08, 2021
Robert Gardner Duncan (Bob), 76, of Deland, Florida passed from this life on October 8, 2021. Bob was born on February 6, 1945, in Plymouth, England to the late Kenneth and Patricia Duncan during a family trip. Shortly returning to Norton, Virginia, Bob grew up running through the Appalachian Mountains. Following his graduation from John I. Burton High School, Bob answered the call to serve in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam war. In the Air Force, he thrived as a Boom Operator and as a Special Agent where he received numerous commendations. Retiring as a Tech Sergeant from the military, Bob began his career as a Special Investigative Agent with the State of Florida. In his spare time, Bob enjoyed playing guitar, singing old songs (especially to his wife, Robin who he sang “My Girl” to every chance he got). He also enjoyed fishing, playing golf, listening to country music and Elvis. A private man with his southern accent, Bob loved talking about growing up in the mountains as a child, his wife, his children, grandchildren and great-grandchild. Bob loved spending time with his family and making everyone laugh. Bob’s all-time favorite thing to do was to play with their Yorkie Buddy, especially at bedtime where they would play “blankie.”
Those left to cherish Bob’s memory are his beloved wife Robin Duncan, his son Jeffrey Duncan(Tammy), his daughter Lenora Woodrough(Jeff), his step-son, James LesCallett, his grandchildren, Callie Duncan, Morgan Duncan, Brandon Little, Nick LesCallett, Arlee LesCallett and Havyn LesCallett, his great-grandson Christian Little, his sister, Debbie Smith, his sisters-in-law, Nina Kisner, Trish Vieler, Kelly Anastasi, Debbie Baylor, his brothers-in-law, Roger Smith, Connie Kisner and Jimi Cook, his mother-in-law, Jacqueline Cook, his stepmother, Betty Jo Duncan, his nephews, Jeremy Smith, Scott Dearinger, Tracey Kisner, Robert Bonsby, his nieces, Tina Dearinger, and Brittany Bonsby, his great-nephews, Brandon Dearinger and Jordin Dearinger and his former spouse, Becky Hendrick.
