Robert E. Milk, Sr, 83, of Edgewater, Florida died Tuesday, August 25, 2009, at the Hospice of Volusia Southeast Care Center Edgewater.
He was born in Braintree, MA on November 20, 1925. Much of his adult life was split between Hanson MA and Kennesaw, GA raising five children with his wife, before retiring to Edgewater, FL.
Robert was a World War II veteran, flying missions in Asia for the Army Air Corps during the war. He was an avid sportsman, a member of the Knights of Columbus in Marietta, a former Little League coach and Boy Scouts of America leader, following his son Joe through to Eagle Scout. Throughout his entire adult life Robert was a skilled craftsman, passing on that legacy to his children. He was proud of his service to his country and will be interred at the Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, Florida. Another member of our country's Greatest Generation will be sorely missed.
He leaves to cherish his memory his beloved wife of 58 years Patricia Ann Huckle Milk, five children, Robert E. Milk and his wife Peggy; Barbara Beriau and her husband Ted; Paul Frances Milk; Joe Milk and Sharon Johnston and Trisha, 11 granddaughters and 12 great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his parents James and Marion Milk. Special thanks to Barbara, Robert and Joseph for their loving care during the last two years.
