Obituary

Bob “Madd” Tourigny completed his greatest adventure by traveling to Heaven on Sunday, September 28th, 2014. He was 65 years old. Bob was born on January 13, 1949 as the youngest of three sons to Edgar and Jeanette (Vaudreuil) Tourigny in Worcester, Massachusetts. He grew up in Holden, Massachusetts and graduated from Wachusett Regional High School in 1967. Bob married Diane Narva on June 29th, 1968 in Spencer, Massachusetts and they had two children. Moving to the Inglis/Yankeetown area in 1977, Bob worked as a commercial fisherman and restaurant manager until going to work for A&N Corporation as a machinist until retiring in 2005 as their National Sales Manager. Bob was always very active in his community and always willing to lend a hand and a smile to everyone he came in contact with. He had a deep passion for hunting and fishing and thrived in both of these situations. He had many friends and was always looking for ways to give back to our community by volunteering as an ambulance driver and as a firefighter. He also held the position of Fire Chief for Yankeetown Volunteer Fire and Rescue for a term.  He was a founding member of the Gulf Hammock Hunters Association and a member of the Twisted Oaks Hunting Camp.  He was mostly known by his CB Handle of Madd (short for Madd Machinist) to all of his friends. Bob was pre-deceased by his wife Diane in 2007. He leaves two children, Valarie Davenport  (Husband Brian) of Inglis, FL and Jim Tourigny (Wife Christie) of Ormond Beach FL. Four grandchildren; Jeremy Goldsmith of Falconer, NY, Julianne Goldsmith of Inglis, FL, Jake and Andy Tourigny of Lecanto, FL.  Bob was pre-deceased by both parents and his older brother, Bernie Tourigny of Inglis, FL. His brother Paul Tourigny (Wife Sandy) lives in Dunnellon, FL. Bob leaves behind many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends too numerous to count. A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, October 11th, 2014 at Amazing Grace Fellowship By The Sea, 718 Highway 40 West, Inglis, FL 34449 at 1pm with a reception to follow at the Gilley Long Osteen VFW Post located at 520 Highway 40 East, Inglis, FL 34449. In lieu of flowers the family asks that a donation be made in Bob Tourigny’s name to Legacy Hospice House, 9505 SW 110th Street, Ocala, FL 34481, (352) 291-5100.
