I remember Bob Hayden's time in Tallahassee like it was yesterday. What a great guy and a great influence on a young pilot (me). Ironically, we lived fairly close to each other until I moved from Florida last October. I wish I'd known he was there.

I recall Bob's service with the FAA in Tallahassee, his enthusiasm as an airplane builder and pilot, member of EAA Chapter 445, and a great example for a young pilot (me). That was 40 years ago and I remember him like it was yesterday. My last contact with him was a few years ago when he was in Virginia. More recently, ironically, we lived not very far apart until I moved from Mount Dora last October. I wish I'd know he was so close - I'd have loved to have rekindled the friendship.
