Obituary
Robert Keith Farrell, 72, passed away on June 24th, 2019, surrounded by family.
Keith was born on July 7th, 1946, in Illinois to Lorraine and William Farrell. He grew up in Kane County and remained there for much of his life. In 1967, he joined the U.S. Marines, and was honorably discharged as a Corporal. He spent most of his career as a sandblaster and painter.
In 2010, he retired to Florida where he spent arguably the best nine years of his life. He could be found putzing around his yard or sitting and having coffee with his beloved wife, Linda. They would take day trips to Disney or the beach and he loved each and every day.
Keith was incredibly proud of his wife, his children, and all of his grandchildren and his great grandchild. He never knew a stranger and always helped anyone who needed it. He said there were three things you need to be in this life, Be Kind, Be Kind, and Be Kind. He had endless stories and always whistled while he worked. In 2017, he opened his heart to grand-fostering children. He took great pride in being the best Papa he could be, and he definitely succeeded.
To say that Keith will be missed by many is a great understatement. He was a beautiful, happy presence in the lives of those who knew him. His smile and laugh were unforgettable. While the family is saddened to lose him, they rejoice in knowing that he finally gets to spend time with his father, William, who passed when Keith was only two years old as well as spending time solving the problems of the world with his dear mother, Lorraine “Mimi”, and his big brother Kenny “Fin”, and that we will someday all be joined together again.
The family will be celebrating the life of Keith on September 29th, 2019, at their home and all who would like to share stories of Keith are welcome to attend. While the celebration will help us all remember the life of Keith, we would ask that in his honor that those that knew him always remember to smile, tell those you love that you love them, take the time to notice the beauty in the world around you, and always, always be kind.
Keith is survived by his wife, Linda, his children Colleen (Charles) Farrell, Tony (Michelle) Rouse, Kim (Bill) Zwiers, and Michael (Kristen) Rouse; his grandchildren, Jackie and Breanna Farrell, Madelyn, Kate, and Jack Rouse, Lillian Zwiers, Colton and Chloe, Cody (Alyx) Rouse, Alex Rouse, Jaden Rouse, and his great grandchild, Aidyn. He is also survived by his sister, Kathy (Dale) Martin, and his nieces Kelly (Jimmy) Neidel and Sheri (Joker) Schaefer. He proudly served as honorary Papa to Jaylyn, Savanna, Jacob, and Jordan.
