Obituary
We are sad to announce that Robert George Tims, 73 has passed away from complications of Covid 19 on September 4, 2021. He was born on January 30, 1948 in Augusta, Maine to Theresa and George Tims.
He was predeceased by his parents, his brothers, Richard and Lawrence Tims.
He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Kerry Tims of Ocala, Florida , his children Anissa Mort of Ormond Beach, Corey Tims (Tammy) of White Sands, New Mexico. His six grandchildren include Rylan, Keldon, Landon, and Anna Mort, Julianna and Cordelia Tims, his two sisters, Linda McQuire, Jeanne Barbeau (Norman), brothers, James (Sheila), William (JerriAnn) and David (Cheryl),
He grew up in Manchester, Maine, graduated from Hall-Dale High School in 1966. He attended the University of Maine and received a Bachelor’s degree in Business. He served 30 years in the Air Force and retired as a Senior Master Sergeant in 1996. Robert also served Chief of Police for the city of Hallowell. He was very active in his community. He enjoyed coaching and refereeing youth sports and was a member of the local school board SAD 16. Following retirement he moved to Ocala, Florida. He worked for the State of Florida in the unemployment office and the College of Central Florida in the Financial Aid Department .
He will be buried at the Veterans cemetery in Augusta, Maine at a later date.
