Obituary
Robert John French- Age 92, was born on March 19, 1929 in Mount Vernon NY and passed away on August 8, 2021 in Ocala, Florida.
Bob was in the US Air Force from 1949-1954 as Airman 1st class after graduating from Mt Saint Michael’s High School Mount Vernon ,New York.
He earned his college degree at New Haven Teachers College in New Haven Connecticut. He has held several positions, as Manager of Facilities and Services at ATT/Paradigm, and at the Famous Artist School in Westport Connecticut where he rose to the position of Vice President. Bob also worked at the Oratory of the Little Way in Gaylordsville, Connecticut.
Bob was a visiting Eucharist Minister- for the Advent Church in Ocala along with his wife Marilyn French. He was a member of the computer club at On Top of the World. His hobbies include painting religious stained glass prints – and landscapes. He loved working outside in his garden and watching the birds at his feeders. He always planned little trips as surprises for his wife and they traveled quite frequently in their early years. He loved Vermont. His passion was his love of church, family and his Country.
Bob was a devoted man of God and the world was made a better place by his kindness. He will truly be missed by all who knew him.
Pre-deceased Relatives: His wife Ruth Graham French who died in March 2001.
Surviving relatives: Bob is survived by his wife Marilyn French and three children, six grandchildren and ten great grandchildren.
His three children are: Bruce (Tari) French- Lynn (Father Nigel Mumford) and Brian (Jodi) French.
He has six grandchildren: Steven (Aimee) French- Jason (Stacey) French-Kristen French-Matt (Sundra) French, Megan (Tom) French and Andrew French.
Bob has ten great-grandchildren- Hayden, Henry, Harrison, Reid, Carter, Kaylee, Adeline, Nora, Finn and Oliver.
Bob has two step daughters- Janis Cross (Lee) Barbara Mulligan (Bernard). He has five grandchildren, Abigail Rose, Bryanna (Jake) Kyle Michel and Bernard Mulligan (Lauren) He has one great grandchild – Bernard Michael Mulligan 111
The memorial service will be held on August 15th 2021 at the Episcopal Church of the Advent with Father Bill officiating.
The Burial will be in Newtown, Connecticut at a later date in September TBA.
