Obituary

Robert John Strain Sr., 71, of Edgewater, Florida, passed away on September 9, 2022.  Born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania to David and Lillian (Kirchoff) Strain on July 5, 1951, Robert was raised in Croydon and Philadelphia.  He proudly served in the United States Army and then worked for 35 years with Industrial Spring Steel Company in Philadelphia.  In 2011, he and his wife Linda retired to Edgewater.

Bob spent countless summers camping with his family at the Jersey shore in Cape May, New Jersey.  His passions included fishing, clamming, crabbing, coin, and card collecting, traveling, casino trips, and spending time with his family and friends.  He was a proud member of Elks Lodge #1557 and Islander Beach Resort.  He held the members and friendships he developed at both very close to his heart.

He is preceded in death by his siblings, Lillian Guckin, Katherine Schulz and David Strain.  He is survived by the love of his life, Linda Strain (Sedgwick) who he was married to for 53 years.  Together they shared Robert J. Strain Jr. (Michele), Heather Strain McIntyre and Linda Strain Branish (William) who also survive him.  Bob also leaves seven grandchildren: Jenna, Amanda, Lindsy, Kyle, Nathan, Evan and Peyton as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends whom he loved dearly to cherish his memory.

A celebration of life is scheduled for Saturday, October 22, 2022 from 2:00 pm until 4:00 pm at the Elks Lodge #1557, 820 West Park Avenue, Edgewater, Florida 32132.

Interment will be held at a later date at Cedar Hill Cemetery in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
