Obituary

Robert (Bob) Morey of the Village of Lynnhaven died Friday morning. He is survived by his wife Kathy Morey; his brothers James (and Pat) Morey and Don (and Kathy) Morey of Swartz Creek MI and William (and Debbie) Morey of Swartz Creek MI/Village of DeSoto; and by his wife’s siblings Dennis (and Jan) Stelzner of the Village of Amelia, Shirley (and Mike) Lyons of Chester VA, Pam (and Mike) Caulfield of Piqua OH, Tim (and Kelly) Stelzner of Sidney OH, and Scott (and Michelle) Stelzner of White Lake MI.

Bob worked for over 35 years as a landscape construction foreman in Southeast Michigan. He was the lead equipment operator for the company that built the diamond in the Detroit Tiger baseball stadium at Comerica Park in 2000.

He retired due to medical issues in 2008, and in 2015, he and Kathy sold their house, moved into their 40-foot fifth-wheel trailer and set off to chase the warm weather and travel the country. They toured The Villages in late 2016, decided the lifestyle and climate were what they were looking for, and became residents in January 2017.

Bob enjoyed playing bid euchre, Joker, and Tzap. He took golf lessons, but continuing health issues prevented him from being able to master the game.

A Celebration of Bob’s Life will be held at Pimlico Recreation Center on Saturday, January 26, from 2:00 to 4:00 pm. Light refreshments will be served. To honor Bob’s dislike of suits and ties, Florida casual dress is the uniform of the day.

Donations in Bob’s name would be appreciated in lieu of flowers to Cornerstone Hospice of the Villages, 601 Casa Bella, The Villages FL 32162.Remembrances may be left at www.baldwincremation.com under Obituaries.

Our condolences Kathy. You and Bob were the best neighbors we ever had. We felt honored that you moved with us to the new neighborhood. Bob was a funny guy and always upbeat. We are so happy you guys had a chance to live your dreams in retirement. You should have had many more years together. We hope to see you in Mi and know that one day, we will see Bob again. Hugs and prayers to you and the family. With love, Bud and Sharon
