Obituary
Robert James Rohl
August 9, 1943 – April 12, 2022
Robert J Rohl of Ft. Myers Florida died peacefully at Hospice Hope House at HealthPark on April 12, 2022 after many years of significant health problems. Bob was born in Buffalo, New York to the late Babe and Beatrice Rohl. Bob was jack of all trades and there seemed to be nothing he couldn’t do. He and his wife Becky built a wonderful life working together and owning a boat livery in Silver Springs, New York and formed many wonderful friendships. Bob then went on to do general contracting for major hotel chains throughout the country which moved his family to Delaware, Ohio where they resided for many years. After retirement, they moved to Ft. Myers, Florida where the sunshine was bright, and the fish were big. Bob was an avid hunter and fisherman. He loved his sports including hockey, football, Nascar racing but most of all his Buffalo Bills. Bob’s pride and joy was his family, and nothing truly made him smile more than being around his lively family and the group of grandchildren. While Bob was a man of few words and having a kind heart, he was known to be ornery and have a great sense of humor. In Bob’s mind, there was nothing that couldn’t be said in 25 words or less.
Bob is survived by his adoring wife of 58 years, Rebecca Ann (Bunting), his children Susan Ann (John) Hatfield of Powell, OH, Donald James (Jacque) Rohl of Powell, OH, and Sheryl Marie (Bart) Johnson, of Delaware, OH. He is also survived by his precious grandchildren Amanda Hatfield, Brad (Megan Pettry) Hatfield, Matthew, Sydney and Abigail Rohl, Adam (Svetlana) Johnson, Eric, Nate and Jenna Johnson, great grandchild Brantlee Hatfield and expectant great grandchild Baby Johnson. He is also survived by a sister Barbara Seegar from Cheektowaga, NY, brother-in-law Charles (Susan) Bunting from Galena, OH and sister-in-law Denise (late John) Bunting from Bowie, MD as well as several nieces and nephews. He is proceeded in death by parents Babe and Beatrice Rohl. A private service will be held at a future time. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Shriner’s Hospital for Children Attn: Office of Development, 2900 Rocky Point Drive, Tampa, FL 33607.
