It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Robert Ryan Shalla of Tavares, Florida. Robert passed away unexpectedly on January 15, 2024, at the age of 34. Born on December 12, 1989 in Miami, Florida, Robert instantly filled our lives with love.

Robert is survived by his mother, Susan Shalla; and his sisters Stacy (Nerald) Duka and Brittany (Keenan) Becker. Cherished Uncle to Adrian Duka and Theodore Becker. He is predeceased by his father, Richard Shalla.

Curious and intelligent from a young age, Rob was always asking questions and quite inquisitive about any topic that came his way. As Mom would always say, Rob had the gift of the gab. He could talk for hours about the latest food, music, or any type of fish. Rob graduated from Harborfields High School in 2008. After high school, he started DJ’ing in some of NYC most well-known clubs. He loved putting sounds together and creating a whole range of playlists. He could always be seen wearing headphones.

He had a profound love of the ocean and fishing. At any given time, he would want to be out on the water tuna fishing or taking days long trips out to the middle of the ocean. It was where he truly loved to be. His dream was to become a Captain of the sea.

Rob loved football and basketball, especially the Dolphins. Some of his most talked about memories are when him and Dad went to Metlife stadium with all the Dolphins fans, wearing their turquoise proudly. Just like his Dad, Rob loved any crime show and could recite a Law and Order or spy show. The two of them were best of buddies.

Rob was a social, active man who had many friends. He enjoyed being with his family and friends, and was an animal lover, especially his dog Peyton. His family and friends will always remember him as a loving, giving, caring person. He will be greatly missed.

The Shalla family wishes to thank all those who helped us in the past month. Your support has meant the world to us all. There will be a small memorial service for immediate family members.
