Robert Stanley Pogg, 73, of Edgewater FL., formerly of East Hartford, CT, Born December 21, 1942, passed on July 31, 2016 at home. Robert was preceded by the love of his life Diana (Waltos) Pogg. He is survived by a sister Nancy M. Pogg; daughter Kathy Stevens (Bruce), sons Robert, Eric (Nancy), David, Travis and Waylon. A son Tylor preceded him. Bob leaves behind several grandchildren Jennifer, Mathew, Andrew, Dianne, Preston, Rylee and Kaleb (Stanley). Sabina and Nick Hall, as well as several nieces and nephews too numerous to name. His dog Lexi who was always at his side will miss him dearly. Robert retired from the City of Hartford Fire Department, served in the United States Army. He was active for many years in the Greater Hartford Jaycees, Hartford Evergreen Lodge #88 AF & AM, and was a member of the Scottish Rite Valley of Hartford and the Sphinx Shiners’ before relocating to Florida over 25 years ago. Robert was active in the Loyal Order of Moose, New Smyrna Beach, FL. Active in many charities in his life, he often gave of himself to all. Bob was a man that spoke his own mind whether anyone liked it or not. He loved riding his Harley Davidson, driving large cars, and always had a craving for steak and lobster. On Sunday, August 7, a Celebration of Life will be held at 2315 Vista Palm Dr, Edgewater at 2:00 PM. There will also be services in Connecticut at Rose Hill Cemetery in Rocky Hill where Robert will be laid to rest at the end of August.
