Obituary
On July 2, 2021, Robert J Stanley, of New Smyrna Beach, Florida, ended his journey on Earth and was welcomed into the arms of the Lord. Robert was born on September 2, 1961 in Mineola, New York. His love for horses brought him to the Atlantic City Racetrack in 1983, where he met the love of his life. He worked there for a few years before moving on to the successful jobs of casino dealer, security, and then finally a tractor trailer driver. Robert was also a volunteer Firemen in his early years. Due to an injury while on the road, he retired in 2013. He moved from New Jersey to Florida in 2015 to chase a stress free “salt life.”
Robert enjoyed a fulfilling life, although it was such a brief time. He loved to travel, go to NY Giants and Yankees games, collect model classic cars, go fishing on his pontoon boat, and try new dining experiences. He was a kind soul, never ignoring the opportunity to help someone, even if they were stranger. In his final years Robert faced many health challenges, but he always stayed positive and kept his faith. He didn’t let those challenges stop him from being his wife’s captain, his daughter’s first love, and his son’s inspiration.
Robert is survived by his wife and best friend of 35 years, Laura; his two children, Krista (Frank), and Matthew; 1 grandchild, Frankie; and 3 furkids, Bronzon, Bella, and Romeo.
Robert will be greatly missed by his family and friends. His infectious smile will never be forgotten.
There will be funeral liturgy at 11:00 am on July 10th. Friends may visit starting at 10:00 am at Baldwin Brothers 1 N Causeway New Smyrna Beach.
