Obituary

Robert V. Talley, 88, was born in Richmond, Virginia and has been a Florida resident since 1956. He passed Monday, March 26th. He was the youngest of three children born to Dorothy and Jesse Talley. Robert was a Sergeant in the United States Marine Corps and served his country during WW2 as a Turbo-Jet Mechanic. Upon his discharge, he worked for Southern Bell and served as a Police Officer in Daytona Beach Shores. He cherished his community and was active in the Boy Scouts, Knights of Columbus, The Elks Club and many other civic organizations. He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Shirley, his second wife, Margaret and long-time life companion, Pearl, his son, Charles and daughter, Brenda. He leaves behind his beloved children – Kathleen, Warren, Joseph, Patrice and Dorothy.  He is also survived by 8 grand-children and 8 great-grand-children.  Viewing will be at Our Lady of Lourdes in Daytona Beach on April 11, 2018 from 10:00 am until the time of the Funeral Mass at 11:00 am.   Arrangements handled by Baldwin Brothers Funeral Home, Ormond Beach, FL

    I can still hear Uncle Sonny saying my name, he had a unique way of pronouncing it like no one else. I will miss that, and his bigger than life smile. I know he's smiling now.

    I would like to share my sorrows and condolences to the Talley family on the recent passing of Bob. For three years I worked with and shared some great stories and experiences with Bob at DBSPD. He was a great guy and was always there for you in times of need. May You Rest In Peace B.T. Sierra Unit is 10-7.....
