Obituary
Robert Franklin Wolf (96) passed away peacefully, Sunday, May 30 at Advent Hospice in Palm Coast, FL. Bob was preceded in death by his wife of 62 years, Mabel (Fritzi) Wolf, his parents C.H. and Hazel Wolf, and sisters Dorothy Drews, infant Wanda June, and brother Don Wolf. He is survived by his three children, Roberta (Warren) Hahn of Ormond Beach, FL, Evelyn Kay (Craig) Hubert of Port Orange, FL and Conard (Sue) Wolf of Zanesville, OH, 7 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
Bob was proud of his service in WW II as a Navy Corpsman attached to the Marines and was involved in numerous landings in the South Pacific. His proudest achievement in the service, however, was helping to set up a civilian hospital in the Philippines where he helped deliver children and treat many jungle and poverty related diseases. After the service he attended business college eventually running a sawmill with his wife and father. He was a police officer at the University of Illinois and had his own construction company, Wolf and Son, for many years. Bob finished his working years as a bus driver for Illini Swallow Lines. He described himself as. “A medium golfer. A not bad bowler. And always a friend”. Bob was a member of First Church of Port Orange, FL.
A graveside service will be held Monday, June 28 at 1:30 pm at Mount Hope Cemetery in Sidney where he will be laid to rest with his family and beloved wife, Fritzi.
