Obituary
Robert (Bob) H Wood, Jr of Belle Isle, Florida, passed away May 12, 2019, at the age of 99 1/2. Bob was born on December 7, 1919 in Baltimore, Maryland to the late Robert H Wood, Sr and the late Hattie Mae (Nippard) Wood. He is survived by his wife of 78 years, Dorothy L Wood, and two daughters Barbara Lobsinger of Winter Springs and Janie Aguirre of Jamestown, NC. Bob also leaves behind two grandsons James R Lobsinger of Winter Springs and Quinn R Aguirre of Concord, CA. He grew up in Baltimore, Maryland where he graduated from Baltimore Polytechnic Institute. He served in the Army during World War II and later worked for Martin Marietta. Martin Marietta transferred Bob to the Orlando area in 1957 where he retired after 44 years of employment. In retirement, he kept busy volunteering for both Hospice and Orlando Reginal Medical Center in addition to working for Baldwin Fairchild in Pinecastle as well as delivered Meals on Wheels for 7 years. Throughout his life, Bob was registered as an active member of the Boy Scouts of America and recognized by having a camp site named after him at Camp La-No Chi. His active life came to an end at home with family at his bed side.
A Memorial Service will be held Monday, May 20th at Grace Covenant Presbyterian Church located at 1655 Peel Avenue, Orlando, FL 32806. The service will be followed by a small reception where the family will greet friends and acquaintances.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Boy Scouts of America Central Florida Council.
