Obituary

Our beautiful, amazing Mom passed away peacefully on September 6, 2017.

Roberta “Bobbee” Cera was a professional pianist and music teacher of 65 years. She was an award winning fine artist and accomplished author as well. Her love and devotion to her family, pets and artistic passions will be forever missed. Bobbee raised two children, bred dogs, Discus fish, cared for a six-foot Green Tree Iguana, all while entertaining so many with her distinct lounge style at several notable establishments from New Jersey to Florida. She shared her knowledge and talents with many, teaching adults and children piano and music theory. Her true passion however was animals. It wasn’t unheard of for her to feed 26 cats on her front lawn, rescue squirrels and passionately care for her true loves – her Golden Retrievers. Two of her published books playfully recount storied life choices; finding hope and meaning through the many marvels of nature.

Bobbee left two children: Russell Cera and Teresa Gragg, 5 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren and many dear friends.

Her legacy will stay in our hearts forever.

A Life Celebration Memorial Service will be held on January 6, 2018 in Brigantine, New Jersey. All are welcomed to come celebrate her life. In lieu of flowers, Bobbee would have loved for any donations to go to the Golden Retriever Rescue of Southwest Florida at www.grrswf.org .

Time to go for a walk on the boardwalk, Mom and look out upon that ocean of boundless possibilities.

I am honored to call this multi-talented soul a friend. We met while she was playing piano in the local library when she lived in Point. She was so talented, so full of life and so refreshingly honest. A true gift to everyone she interacted with. I proudly display her books on my coffee table. She was a beautiful generous spirit and gave so much to so many. We shared many wonderful conversations. She had such a unique view of the world. I know she was proud of my girls and we all have received much from her. I was even blessed to have been able to visit her in Florida. Sympathy and blessings to her family. I am sure Bobbee is in heaven!
