In Loving Memory of our Mother, Nana,
Sister, and Dear Friend
Roberta Lorraine (Prentice) Wells, of DeKalb, Illinois, born on September 8, 1950 in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, to the late Jacqueline Ann (Guiette) and John Patrick Prentice, passed away at age 68 on December 2, 2018 at the Opis Coquina Center in Ormond Beach, Florida. She graduated from DeKalb High School in 1969. Roberta is survived by her daughters, Rose Marie Borger and Peggy Ann Wells; brother, Brian Prentice; sister, Gail Johnson; and grandchildren, Clayton Travis Borger, Dylan Tyler Borger and Robert Scott Borger.
Roberta’s greatest joy was bringing happiness and joy to others. She shared her joy of crocheting by making cross bookmarks for the members of her church, baby blankets for family members and friends, and dishcloths and towels for countless loved ones, friends and members of her community. Her kindness, compassion and loving heart have earned her a place in Heaven, as she lived her life the way her Heavenly Father would have desired.
Roberta also enjoyed reading and studying her Bible, playing Mahjong, watching Hallmark movies (especially at Christmas), playing Bingo with her many friends, writing poetry and coloring. Prior to moving with her daughter and grandsons to Port Orange, Florida, she had made Montana her home for over 16 years. There she was a member of the Ladies Ministry at Solid Rock Bible Church and later a congregant of Victory Church. While in Great Falls, her most loved & appreciated role was as her daughter’s sidekick for 8 years at the Great Falls Farmers Market.
Roberta spent her lifetime being an animal lover and advocate; therefore, in lieu of flowers, any donations may be made in Roberta’s name to The Halifax Humane Society. Arrangements are being handled by Baldwin Brothers Funerals & Cremations, 1185 W Granada Blvd Unit 11, Ormond Beach, FL 32174, (386) 947-7273.
