Obituary

Roderick “Rod” Harter Jr. age 31 passed away Friday, March 17th, 2017.  He loved golf, playing his guitar, his friends and family, and his beloved dog, Porkchop.  In 2010, his passion for the outdoors inspired him to hike the Appalachian Trail and set the tone for his view on life.

He was survived by his father Rod Harter Sr. and his mother and step-father Linda and Stan Mushinski, sister and brother-in-law Christina and John Kelly, nephew Colin Kelly and Grandmother Barbara Jean Moore

Services will be held on Saturday April 1st at the University Club of Winter Park from 2-4pm (ceremony 3pm). 841 N Park Ave, Winter Park, FL 32789. In lieu of flowers please make a donation in Rod’s name to to Appalachian Trail Conservancy.

    Roddy, as you are young you will appreciate that this is the third time trying to send this. I was so happy to have seen you and talked with you a few weeks ago. I know you are proud of your parents and sister at your memorial. Your dad, especially told us about you and how very proud he is.

    My brother from another mother, we were so close to reconnecting after I moved out of Orlando then you moved out of Altamonte, just when I found you again after a yr, ive lost you. You will truly be missed my brother, we spent so much time together laughing and smiling and just goofing off, for a long while you, JB and I were inseparable, I miss going over to your parents house for dinner and playing board games afterwards, telling jokes, laughing a whole lot!... That was the best part about hanging out with you, we were all always laughing, you kept everyone in good spirits always, even when you were down you tried to remain cheerful. You were a very good human being, you and my little brother were taken away from this world all to soon, always the good people in this world seem to be taken away from us way to early, I just hope its for a very good reason...

    Ill miss you always my bro, I hate having to catch up and talk to you like this, I hope you find peace, and that my words reach you, past the stars, beyond the Universe, or wherever you may be.
