Obituary

With profound sadness we announce the passing of Roger on February 7, 2022.

A mechanical engineer, spending the majority of his career at Kennedy Space Center, Roger contributed to the success of the shuttle program. While in high school, college, and at the Cape he established friendships that lasted his lifetime. Roger took pride in mentoring young engineers and guys at the gym. He was an intense wrestler in college and enjoyed fishing as a young boy.

His love for fishing is what most will remember about him. He was fearless in deep sea fishing, even running his 21-foot Grady White to the weather buoy 120 miles with only one motor! When not boating or fishing, Roger enjoyed working out and cycling. He was focused and determined; some may even say lovingly stubborn.

A dedicated husband, father, son, and friend. Roger will be incredibly missed by all that knew him. He was the beloved husband of Kristen, father of daughters Karah and Kayla, and son of Robert. Predeceased by his mother Kimlan.

A Celebration of Life will be held on March 6, 2022 from 1:00-4:00pm at the Brannon Center, 105 South Riverside Drive in New Smyrna Beach, FL 32168.

Roger was a wonderful human! We laughed, our TVC group at AF played jokes on each other, he was serious, smart, and hardheaded. I always had respect for Roger. I admired his dedication to his family, fishing and staying in shape. There really aren't any words that can ease the pain of losing those we love, all I can say is he loved his family with all his heart and he will always be in your heart. Prayers Julie S.

Roger - yes, lovingly stubborn, yet truthful, loyal, caring. I could always depend on you for listening to my thoughts whether work or living life. So Blessed with memories of humor (George and Wheezie - we got along like the Jefferson's. - LOL) and friendship. May Roger's family find peace in the many loving memories of a wonderful life spent together.

I can't remember the last time Roger referred to me by my name. I was always SIL and he was BIL. We would talk about Singh's Roti Shop in Orlando and the Trini food there. I brought him doubles for his birthday, he reciprocated by bringing me doubles that he picked up on one of his trips through Orlando. When I decided to move back to Florida in 2000, he was instrumental in getting me hired at the cape. I was proud to work with him and watch him succeed in his career. He was a great husband to my sister and father who raised two independent, intelligent and beautiful daughters. He was a great BIL and I will miss him very much.

Rest in peace BIL. Love SIL.
