Obituary

Roger Broadwell of Venice, FL, passed away on December 5, 2023, at the age of 90 years old.
Roger is survived by his loving wife Virginia of 53 years; daughter, Cynthia Vatcher; son, Peter Broadwell; twin daughters, Joyce Ballard and Beverly Broadwell. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his daughter Kimberly Broadwell.
Roger was blessed with ten grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.
Before his health declined, Roger enjoyed traveling, playing bridge, golf, and tennis.
Roger graduated from MIT in Cambridge, Massachusetts, with a degree in Metallurgical Engineering where he was a member of Kappa Sigma Fraternity. One of his greatest professional achievements was becoming a fellow of the American Society of Metals for his vast advances in the development of titanium applications in the aerospace industry. After his successful career in Metallurgy, Roger went on to enjoy working at the Ringling Museum in Sarasota. Roger also served his country as a Captain in the US Air Force.
With the holidays upon us, a celebration of life will be held at a later date at Good Shepherd Church in Venice, Florida.

Roger will always be in the hearts of those who loved him.

    Ginny, I am so sorry for your loss. Roger was
    a wonderful boss who mentored me in my first metallurgy job. He was a giant in the titanium industry and a great guy to boot.
