Obituary
Ron Abraham joined The Church Triumphant on September 30, 2020. Ron was born July 20, 1938, in New Castle, PA. to Ralph and Anna Abraham. Graduating from New Castle High School in 1956, Ron went on to attend West Virginia University on a football scholarship, majoring in Mechanical Engineering. After several years on the drawing board, he joined his father in the family insurance business. Which continues on with his son Todd.
Ron had two sons with his first marriage, R. Christy Jr. and Todd A. Abraham. During those years, Ron managed Little League and Connie Mack baseball teams. He also coached Pop Warner football.
Ron was also active in Civic Activities with the Jaycees, Lion Club, Elk’s Club and served on The United Way Board.
Marries a second time in 1983 to Sallie Alexander Linton. She had two children. Thomas and Tracey.
Ron was very active in their church. Highland Presbyterian Church’ New Castle, PA. where he served as an Elder and Trustee.
After moving to The Villages in 2011, Ron joined New Covenant United Methodist Church. Participating in Men’s Breakfast with his tables of guys, his couples small group, and volunteering at Bargains and Blessings Thrift Shop. Ron was active in many Villages activities including two men’s golf groups, the Saturday Couples golf group. He also belonged to The Ohio Buckeye Club and participated in a Wed. table shuffleboard league. Ron was also known as “The Mayor” of Keystone Villa’s.
Ron was preceded in death by his parents and a brother Ralph S Abraham Jr. Ron is survived by his wife Sallie Abraham, his son’s R. Christy Abraham Jr. (Carmela) and Todd A. Abraham (Jackie), his stepchildren, Tracey Linton Mannozzi (Steve) and Thomas Linton (Michelle). 10 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
A Memorial Service will be held on October 15, 2020, at 2:00 PM at New Covenant United Methodist Church, 3470 Woodbridge Drive, The Villages FL. 32162.
CDC Guidelines will be observed.
