Ronald “Ron” Dessureau, 79, of Leesburg, FL passed away on October 7, 2021 surrounded lovingly by his family. 

As Dad would say, he had 74 great years and only 5 challenging ones due to his battle with cancer.  He had a passion for travel that was acquired through his lifelong career and eventual retirement from Delta Air Lines.  He shared his love of travel with his family on numerous family vacations.  His favorite destination was the Canadian Rockies with all its majestic beauty and wildlife!  The last trip he took was to Central Tennessee over Christmas with his oldest daughter and family.  He told his granddaughters it was going to snow on Christmas and it did- all day Christmas Eve and Day!  Dad had a way of just “knowing” things and a faith to believe.  He grew up in Meriden, CT where he developed his lifelong love of the Yankees.  He loved sports.  Baseball, basketball, football, and golf were some of his favorites. He enjoyed watching his youngest granddaughters play on their youth soccer and basketball teams.  He also enjoyed playing baseball with them in the backyard and any other game they could imagine!  His family time was near and dear to his heart.

When you are having a challenging day, think of Dad and his favorite encouragement that was framed in his home; “Good Morning! This is God, I will be handling all of your problems today. I will not need your help. So, relax and have a great day!”

Ron is survived by his daughters Denise Cornett (Roy) of Leesburg and Darlene Sampson (Carl) of Orlando, as well as, his four beautiful granddaughters: Madeline Cornett, Amelia Cornett, Olivia Sampson, and Elliana Sampson.
