Ronald Troutman of New Smyrna Beach, 88, departed this life after a stroke and a long battle with Diabetes. A Life Celebration will be held Saturday, August 11, 2012 at 2:00 at Baldwin Brothers Heritage Chapel, 1 North Causeway, New Smyrna Beach. Family will receive friends on Friday, August 10, 2012 from 4 to 7pm. Ronald was born in Princeton, WVA. and moved with his parents Thomas and Maude Troutman to Beckley, WVA when he was one year old. After high school Ronald received a 4-year Football Scholarship to West Virginia University, but had to return home due to family situations. In 1948 he married Helen and that marriage still last today. Ronald began working with a plumbing company and in the early 1950’s started his own company. In 1974 he and Helen moved his plumbing company to New Smyrna Beach, Florida. Ronald retired in 1988. Ronald’s love of golf began in Beckley at Black Knight Country Club and the move to New Smyrna Beach was influenced by his first cousin, Marvin Harvey, Pro at the golf course. Ronald was of Presbyterian faith. He was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas and Maude Troutman; brother Thomas Jr.,; sister Geri Harford, Edgewater, Florida. He is survived by his wife, Helen: sister Juanita Flick of Loogootee, Indiana. Niece Judy (Flick) Walton and Tony of Loogootee, IN.; nephew Wayne Flick and Kelley of Fishers, IN. and special cousins Mary Jo Hickman of New Smyrna Beach, Florida and Kathy Aylwin of Palm Coast. He also leaves many dear and precious friends.
