Obituary
Ronald G. Miller died peacefully in his home with loved ones by his side on October 28, 2021 in Bradenton, FL at the age of 88.
Ron was a devoted husband, dad, and grandpa. He is survived by his loving wife, Pat; his sons, Patrick (Yonilee) of Palmetto, Gary of Tampa, Ron (Kat) of Ft. Myers; his daughter, Hallie Miller-Boyd of Bradenton, and many grandchildren & great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his youngest son, Eric in 1996 and his oldest son, Edward in 2019.
Ron was born on February 25, 1933 in Clarksburg, West Virginia to Joseph & Lily Miller. He served in the U.S. Army in the 1950’s holding rank as Corporal. Ron then obtained a cosmetology teaching license and owned and operated several salons in Erie, PA. After moving to Bradenton, FL in 1978, Ron changed careers and established R.G. Miller Home Improvements employing all five of his sons at various times from 1980 – 2011.
Ron’s sons appreciated life lessons learned from him both personally and professionally. Ron’s daughter fondly remembers his willingness to spend hours doing daddy/daughter things. Ron fiercely loved his family. His pride and joy were his kids & grandkids and he enjoyed big family get-togethers and teaching his grandkids how to swim. His adventuresome spirit always brought lots of fun. He was a skier, avid golfer, poker player, and enjoyed the Florida lifestyle with his family, including boating, trips to the beach, and watching the manatees in the Palma Sola Yacht Basin.
A private memorial service will be held.
