Obituary
Rose W Cherry passed away on September the 3rd at the age 81. Rose is survived by her husband Richard, their three children; Richard, Edward and Blakely, their four grandchildren; Nathan, Spencer, Savannah, and Troy, and her brother, Bill.
Rose was born in Norfolk, VA on October 21, 1941, to Vance (Edwin) and Rosa Grover in Norfolk, VA. Rose and Richard married June 30, 1961. Rose received her PhD in Counseling from Wayne State University in 1974 while raising their three children. She enjoyed a successful career in counseling for years. Later she revisited her accounting passion and completed her master’s in accounting from Stetson in 1995, soon followed by receiving her CPA.
Rose was passionate about many things throughout her life. She competed in numerous triathlons and then began focusing on marathons. She completed dozens of marathons, including Disney Marathons, the New York City Marathon, the Athens Greece Marathon, and her favorite the Marine Corps Marathon.
She loved spending her time sewing and reading. After completing quilts and teddy bears for every member of her family, she continued with making clothes for herself and became increasing skilled with challenging design patterns and projects.
She will be greatly missed as not only a great Wife, Mother, and Grandmother; but also a loving, considerate and kind-hearted person.
