Obituary

Rose Josephine Blanda, 59, passed away March 23, 2021, at Health Park Hope Hospice House, in Fort Myers, FL. Born June 07, 1961 in Brooklyn, NY., she was the daughter of James Ambrose Blanda and Rose Mangiarotti. Rosie was both a restaurant owner and professional card dealer. She is survived by her sister, Vivian Valentine, and brother in law, John Mark Valentine, of Fort Myers, FL., niece, Jennifer Marie Morris of Sugarland, TX., and nephews, Daniel James Upp of Livermore, CA., and Benjamin Joseph Upp of Colorado Springs, CO. Rosie loved people, gambling, and classic rock and roll. She won many trophies playing adult baseball, bowling, and gambling. She was kind hearted and generous. Rosie had a great sense of humor, and loved to make people laugh. She loved animals, and had 3 cats and 4 dogs in her lifetime. “We will miss her very much.”

    Had lunch at Doc Fords on the wather in Ft. Myers. Rosie loved the food and she had a great time walking around and seeing all of the sights. Rosie i will miss you very much and you always could make me smile. I will miss you very much. Love you, R.I.P go and find some slots and play.

    Rosie I will miss you very much. These last 2 years of your recovery drew us closer together as sisters. Though tragedy brought us together we have many happy memories of the time we got to spend together. I cried with you, argued with you because we are both so stubborn and wanted our own ways but the best time together is you made me laugh. I was your straight man and we would joke about how we should have a TV show about our crazy family. Rosie you will always be the funny one (not John) and I will always be your straight man. You never let me forget, even after 40 years how I "killed" your dog Atlas with my dinner concoction I made one night and fed him 3 bowls and the next morning we found him stiff as board with his tongue hanging out! You loved Melissa Etheridge and I signed up for her fan club. This got us first dibs on tickets in the first 10 rows. We must have gone to at least 8 of her concerts together. At the Paramount in Oakland after the concert you made me follow her limo around the city to see where she was going but we gave up. We saw her in Seattle and after a great dinner by the water I locked the keys in the rental car and we still laugh about that. In San Francisco you were right at the front of the stage and got to shake her hand. That was a very special moment for you. There are many memories and stories to tell here but they will always be in my heart. Say hi to mom and grandma for me and I'll see you soon.
