Obituary
Rosemarie Zukas, 90, of Port Orange, Florida, passed away peacefully on November 25, 2024.
Born in Stephentown, New York, in 1934 to Harry and Anne Griswold, Rosemarie grew up on a farm and cherished caring for animals. She attended Berlin School District, where she graduated as Valedictorian. As the wife of an Army serviceman, she traveled the world, embracing life’s adventures with grace and resilience.
Rosemarie was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Michael G. Zukas, and her sons, David and Phillip Zukas. She is survived by her son Mike (Lonnie) Zukas and her daughter Marianne (Bob) Booth. She also leaves behind her cherished granddaughters Autumn, Ashleigh (Travis), Lauren (Jordan), and Bryanna, as well as her great-granddaughters, Zooey and Zahra.
A devoted Catholic and faithful servant of God, Rosemarie was an active member of Epiphany Catholic Church in Port Orange. She was a kind, generous, and intelligent woman who lived a life of honesty and beauty. Rosemarie loved her family, friends, and community deeply. She found joy in bird watching, tending to her orchids and plants, and sharing her warm spirit with those around her.
Her kindness touched everyone who knew her, and she will be profoundly missed.
Services and Memorial Contributions
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Friday, December 6, 2024, at the Catholic Church of the Epiphany, 201 Lafayette Street, Port Orange, Florida 32127. A Celebration of Life will follow at 1:00 P.M. at 812 Whiporwill Drive, Port Orange, Florida 32127.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Epiphany Catholic Church Food Pantry in Rosemarie’s honor. Donations can be made online here.
