Obituary
Rosemary Copenhaver Reynolds, 76, New Smyrna Beach, FL passed away on September 26, 2016. She was born on October 9, 1939 in Smithmill, PA, and was the daughter of Elizabeth and Murray Copenhaver. She received her Bachelor of Science degree in Education from Indiana University of Pennsylvania in 1961, and taught Home Economics in Rochester, NY. Rosemary married Richard Reynolds in 1963, and they lived and raised their family in Holland Patent, NY before retiring to Florida in 1993. They were married for 52 years, and were blessed with three children.
Rosemary and her family enjoyed vacations to the Outer Banks of North Carolina and Sarasota, FL. She and Dick traveled across North America in their retirement, and especially enjoyed multiple trips to Alaska. Her hobbies included crocheting, crossword puzzles, and bird watching, and she was known to family and friends for having a quick wit and steel-trap memory. Rosemary especially valued her time with her husband, children and grandchildren.
Rosemary is survived by her daughter Roxanne Reynolds Hicks, New Smyrna Beach, FL, son Rick Reynolds and daughter-in-law Shannon Reynolds, Windermere, FL, son Robert Reynolds and fiancé Julie Mayer, Portage, WI, grandchildren Curtis and Samantha Hicks, New Smyrna Beach, FL, sister Gayle Giza and brother-in-law Gene Giza, Carlile, PA, sister Joyce Belis, Pittsburgh, PA, and niece Michelle Lomago, Harrisburg, PA. She is preceded in death by her husband Richard.
The family would like to thank Dina Wentworth for her loving care and friendship to Rosemary, and Halifax Hospice of Volusia/Flagler Counties. Rosemary’s friends and family are invited to a celebration of life at JB’s Fish Camp at 10:00am October 25, 2016. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in Rosemary’s name to Halifax Hospital of Volusia/Flagler Counties.
