Obituary
Ruth Irene Browne, 85, of Orlando, FL left this Earthly existence on May 18, 2024. Ruth was born on June 9, 1938 in Oceanside, New York. She was 1 of 9 siblings. She grew up with 6 sisters and two brothers.
She married the love of her life, Fred, on June 28, 1957. They had been married just shy of 67 years until her passing. Ruth was a military wife and a wonderful Mom to Ted, Charles John, Andrea M., Krissy Jane S., Brianna and Jackie Rose. She has 6 grandchildren and 8 great-grands!
Ruth worked in retail customer service from which she retired after 30+ years. During her career, she pursued a myriad of artistic talents. She loved to write, make ceramic décor and was a master seamstress. She was adept at knitting and crocheting. The fruits of her labors were often given as gifts or were used to benefit the non-profit kidney foundation. She was a dog groomer, and a huge animal lover… she could never-ever turn away a stray.
Ruth was a brilliant cook and loved to nurture her loved ones with comfort dishes and desserts. Everyone will miss her culinary creations – from turnip stew to pepperoni bread to candied trains and everything in-between! Holidays and family gatherings will never be the same!
Ruth was a devoted Wife, Mom, Grandma, Great Grandma, Aunt, Sister, and Friend… She was loved by all who knew her. She was the kindest lady you could ever meet with the most generous spirit! When she gave hugs, you could feel the warmth from your head to your toes.
She (and those hugs) will be forever missed. A private, family memorial will be held in future weeks.
