Obituary

Ruth Esther Munnell, 85, of Tavares Florida went home to the Lord on March 25 2019 following a long and happy life.  Originally from Dubuque Iowa, Ruth was the only child of Edward and Esther Hummel.  On April 18, 1953 Ruth married Donald Joseph Kramer with whom she raised three boys, David (Linda) of Mount Dora, Kevin of Culloden, GA and Robert (Judi) of Deltona, FL.  In 1990 seven years after losing Don to cancer, Ruth married Ralph Munnell, currently residing in hospice care in Houston TX.

Ruth had a love of art and enjoyed both painting and teaching others how to paint.  She also loved a good game of Bridge and, as can be verified by many, shopping for ladies clothing was an avocation.  But mostly she loved being surrounded by her family and friends.

Ruth was preceded in death by her parents and her first husband.  She is survived by her second husband, her three sons, nine grandchildren, Peter, Cynthia, Donald, Daniel, Tyler, Matthew, Jacob, Rosemary and Isabelle along with two great-grandchildren, Jonathon and Nicholas.  In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Heart Association.

Thinking of Ruth and her family and sending my condolences to you all. We will miss her a lot.
Ruth and Ralph were our first friends when we both moved to Aiken at the same time. What fun we had over the bridge table!
She was truly one of a kind, never to be forgotten. RIP, Ruthie.

Our hearts are with Ruth’s family today. She was truly “one of a kind”. She and Ralph were our first friends here in Aiken and we had many good times with them over the years, at the bridge table.
RIP, dear Ruth. Hope the shopping is great where you are.
