Obituary

Ruth Marion Mizialko (96), of Leesburg, Florida, passed away on Monday, June 25, 2018. Ruth was born to Nicholas and Anna Nelson on March 29, 1922 in Chicago, Illinois. Ruth met her husband, Milan “Mike” Mizialko through her brother and they were married in 1949 until Mike’s passing in 1997. Ruth was a “career-girl” at a very early age. She was a hardworking bookkeeper and accountant for the banking industry, who upon retiring at the age of 62, found that she was incredibly bored after a couple years so of course she had to go back to working at least part-time. Ruth loved to bake. Every Christmas, she and her daughter, Cynthia, would bake such large quantities of cookies, “Like you wouldn’t believe!” Ruth was a very dedicated mother whom loved her children greatly and who spent a great deal of time looking after other children in the family as well. A kind, strong and supportive friend and family member, Ruth was the lady you wanted in your corner. It is her kindness, strength and love that touched the lives of so many, and for these reasons, Ruth will live on in the memories of her loved ones.

Ruth is predeceased by her husband, Milan Mizialko; Granddaughter, Michelle Anna Mizialko, by her parents, Nicholas Nelson and Anna Nelson (Nordquist).

She is survived by her children: James Milan Mizialko (wife Barbara Ethel nee Topolski); and Cynthia Jean Herman (life partner Steven K. Giles); by her grandchildren:  James John-Joseph Mizialko; and Matthew Thomas Mizialko (wife Susan Frances_nee Martin); by her great grandchildren: Cathryn Barbara Mizialko; Julia Ruth Mizialko; and Madalyn Rose Mizialko; and many nieces and nephews.

Future services for a Celebration of Life for Ruth have yet to be determined and are at the discretion of her immediate family.
