Obituary

Ruthann Barcelona Turi, 76, passed away on January 6, 2021 in Deland FL. She was born June 9, 1944 in Alton, IL the daughter of Anna E. Barcelona and John J. Barcelona, both preceded her in death. She married Lawrence (Larry) Turi on March 25, 1988 at St. Peter & Paul Church in Alton, IL In April 2013 Ruthann and Larry retired to Deland, FL.

In addition to her husband, Larry, she is survived by her brother, Phillip Barcelona and his significant other Cindy Baron of Deland, FL. Two daughters and a son-in-law, Lori B. Jamison and Andrew Durie of Godfrey, IL , and Lisa A. Jamison of Maryville, TN. ; Three step children, Lisa (Kevin) English of Lincoln,NE, Jill (Doug) Hutsell of Frisco, TX and Brian (Bill) Turi-Light of Salem, OR, 15 grandchildren, Nicholas Jamison, TJ (Laurel) Norton, Cody Jones, Halee Jones, Baeden Jones, Hanna Jones, Kaliegh (Brad) Gorman, Connor English, Molly English, Maggie English, Michael (Aurora) Hutsell, Sara (Abel) Acosta, Jessica (Tyler) Upchurch, Alyssa Turi-Light, & Xander Turi-Light;  6 Great Grandchildren, Tommy & Walker Norton, Lila Bullock, Max & Remington Gorman, and Adeline Acosta.

She graduated from Alton High School in 1962. She was a top St. Louis model for years. After her modeling career she later worked for Olympic Federal Savings & Loan in Alton.

Ruthann loved her family, friends and her fur babies. She enjoyed playing golf and traveling.

She was cremated in Florida and a Celebration of Life will be held in the Alton area later this year, due to COVID restrictions. All donations can be made to cancer charity of your choice.

    Ruthann was a lovable woman and will be deeply missed. We had many many great times. An super mother and step mother to my children. Always had time for them for whatever was needed. We had 32 wonderful years together much to many’s surprise. I love her and miss her. May she Rest In Peace finally
