Salvatore Guastella, 62, passed away on June 27, 2021, in Fort Myers, FL. Born December 12, 1958 in Somerville, NJ., Salvatore was the son of John and Pauline Guastella of Manville. Affectionately nicknamed Thor by his family, he grew up in Manville, and later graduated from Immaculata High School in Somerville.
He began a long career in the building industry, eventually buying and managing Manville Masons Supply Inc. which was established by his grandfather Angelo Guastella in 1926. Throughout his life, Thor enjoyed traveling, cruising the Caribbean Islands, skiing the Swiss Alps, rafting in the Grand Canyon rapids, and gambling in Las Vegas.
He had two daughters, Arryah and Giana, who survive him, as well as two grandchildren, Tristan and Isabel. He is also survived by his brother John Jr. and sister, Angela Radley, and nieces and nephews, Tara and Ryan Radley, and Jason and Marlene Guastella.
After his retirement to Florida, when Thor wasn’t dabbling in real estate investing, he enjoyed jet skiing in the Florida and Bonita Gulfs.
A reception to celebrate Thor’s life will be held in Fort Myers, FL., in August 2021.
