Obituary

On June 21st, 2021, Sam Lindsey Lee, loving husband, father, grandfather, uncle, and friend, passed away surrounded by family members at his home in Maitland, Florida.

Born May 20th, 1942, in Nashville, Tennessee, to Margaret Briscoe Lee and John Wills Napier Lee, Sr., Sam grew up on his beloved Maplewood Farm in Duplex, Tennessee. He graduated from Battle Ground Academy and went on to get a Civil Engineering degree from Vanderbilt University.

After marrying his college sweetheart, Judy Klinger, he and his wife moved to Guam, where Sam served in the US Navy Civil Engineering Corps and their first daughter, Lelia, was born.

In 1968 the Lee family moved to Maplewood Farm south of Franklin, Tennessee. Sam joined Rock City Construction Company, a general contracting company in Nashville started by his father in 1914. The Lees later moved into Franklin, and their daughter Jennifer joined the family. In 1985 Sam completed law school and passed the bar.

In 1990 the Lee family moved to Maitland, Florida, where Sam worked as a Director of Analysis of Construction Administration and Construction Methods for HHCP Architects. He later founded Construction Disputes Consultants, LLC, where he leveraged his construction industry and legal process knowledge to support his clients in resolving and avoiding construction disputes.

He will be greatly missed by Judy, his wife of 56 years, his two adoring daughters, Lelia Bryan and Jennifer Lee (Elmo Montella), and his much-loved granddaughter Willa Napier Bryan.

A family service will be held at a later date at the family cemetery in Duplex, TN.  Donations to honor his life may be made to the American Cancer Society, Inc., With Honor Action, Inc., or a charity of your choice.

The Lee family would like to express special appreciation to the compassionate, professional caregivers who made Sam’s situation more comfortable and his passing more peaceful: Maribel Alvarez and Mary Ann, Karem, Randi, Janice, Maria, Annette, and many others from Advent Health Hospice.
