Obituary
Sami Anthony Hakim, 82, passed away on June 21, 2024. Born in Baghdad, Iraq on January 3, 1942, Sami immigrated to the United States at the age of 15 and worked to put himself through school, graduating from New Haven College with a degree in Accounting. Shortly after graduation he went to work for Automatic Data Processing as a system analyst/designer and spent his whole career with them, before retiring to the Villages in 2012.
Known for his playfulness and zest for life, Sami was a committed and beloved husband, father, grandfather, and community member. His exuberance had a profound impact on everyone who knew him, from his family and friends to the many children for whom he was a soccer coach over multiple decades. A devotee of puzzles and poker, he was a passionate water volleyball player, as well. He was also an innovator who regularly undertook experiments in home improvement and outdoor cooking.
Sami leaves behind his wife and best friend, Natalie; his sons Andy and Peter (wife Erica); and his much loved grandchildren, Harper and Logan. He also leaves his sister-in-law, Nancy Gworek; his brother-in law, Stephen Boynton (wife, June); and nieces and nephews in the US and around the world. A celebration of his life will be scheduled at a future time. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to the American Lung Association in his memory.

Our dear friend Sami, we will miss you and always cherish a good memories!
Our deepest sympathy on your loss,
