Obituary

Samuel “Sam” James Wint, MD, age 75, of The Villages, Florida passed away on January 26,2021 at his home surrounded by family.

He was born in Johnstown, Pennsylvania on April 7, 1945, son of the late Leo Charles Wint and Ellen (Hammel). Sam is survived by many who loved him: his wife of 44 years, Bonnie Lee (Roberts) Wint; his daughter Kristin Dixon and husband Keenan of Lebanon, TN; his grandchildren Austin Wright of Charlotte, NC; Abigail Wright of Atlanta, GA and Landry Dixon of Lebanon, TN; his beloved shih tzu “Bogey”; his brother Ronald Wint and wife Marilynn of Nolensville, TN; sister-in-law Diann (Roberts) Manning and husband Linwood of The Villages, FL and many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.

Sam was raised in Windber, PA and graduated from Windber Area High School in 1963. He received a Bachelor of Science degree from the Pennsylvania State University in 1967. Sam continued his education at the University of Pittsburgh Medical School where he graduated as a Doctor of Medicine in 1971. He returned home after graduation to serve his community, eventually opening his practice where he enjoyed his patients. Later in his career, he chose to use his skills and knowledge to improve the care and comfort of nursing home residents.

The family decided not to have a viewing and funeral services rather request family and friends remember Sam fondly. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the American Cancer Society in memory of Samuel “Sam” James Wint, MD.  https://www.cancer.org/involved/donate/memorial-giving.html

Instead of flowers, the family would prefer if you would make a donation to
