Obituary
Sandor Lajos Hetesi passed away peacefully in his home on Monday, January 2nd after a short period with Marion County Hospice for cancer.
Sandor (Alex) to his family and friends was born on June 22, 1942 to Sandor Hetesi and Erszebet Engler in Budapest, Hungary. He fought in the “Hungarian Revolution” in 1956 when he was just 14 years old. He was shot in the back and wounded left his family and his homeland for a chance at survival. He was granted political asylum to Canada where he lived with a foster family until adulthood. He immigrated to the United States in 1988. He was a chef by profession and enjoyed cooking all of his life. He met his wife, Carol, in 1989 and they had two children together . He became a father later in life and thoroughly enjoyed his kids. He was very proud of his heritage and his family. He enjoyed traveling, cooking and playing cards.
He is survived by his wife, Carol (Robertson) Hetesi, of Ocala; his son, Alex Hetesi, of Ocala; his daughter, Katelynn (Robert) Kennedy, of Ocala; and his two sisters in Hungary: Musits Endrene and Podpacz Lajosne, and many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.
He will be cremated and no service is planned to honor his wishes. Please remember him as the proud, kind, patient, gentle man that he was.
