Sandra T. Allen Fort Myers Florida Celebrating a Life Fully Lived. Sandra Tressa Allen, age 77, passed away on Wednesday, September 25th, 2019 in Fort Myers, Florida with her husband at her side. Sandy was born January 13th, 1942 in Orlando, Florida, the daughter of Kenneth and Tressa Holdeman. She attended Killarney Primary, Howard Junior High and Edgewater High School in Orlando, Florida before attending the University of Florida where she graduated with a Nursing degree. She utilized that degree her entire career working for the State of Florida, culminating her career in the Lee County Health Department in Fort Myers.
Sandra always loved her family, adventure, the great outdoors, cooking, and was an avid reader. Her love of family was expressed in many ways, but her favorite was having a traditional Christmas gathering and celebration. She especially loved boating and scuba diving, as well as playing bridge, and also returned to the game of golf, and took up playing Mahjong in her later years. She married her lifelong love, John Allen, in 1965 and they enjoyed the great outdoors together for 55 years and passed that same love on to their two daughters Kim and Denise. They travelled annually to the Florida Keys to fish and lobster, to Oak Hill to shrimp, and to Steinhatchee for scallops. They also recently toured the western US and the Eastern US coastline in their motor home.
Sandra is survived by her husband John Allen, her brother Kenneth Holdeman, her daughters Denise Allen and Kimberly Law, Kim’s husband Greg, and three grandsons, Christopher, Connor and Patrick Law. A Celebration of Life service and reception will be held for family and friends at 11am, Saturday, October 26th, 2019 at Cypress Lake Presbyterian Church, 8260 Cypress Lake Drive, Ft. Myers, FL.
