Obituary

Sandra Lee Woolsey (Yorker), 76, of Lady Lake, FL, passed away peacefully on May 2nd, 2022, at UF Health The Villages Hospital with her husband and children by her side.

Sandra was born in Winsted, Connecticut on June 3, 1945, to the late Raymond Yorker and Gertrude Yorker (Grohs). During her time in The Villages, she was involved with The Villages Women’s Club and was an avid bunco and bingo player.

Sandra is survived by her husband of 60 years, William Woolsey; her children, William Woolsey Jr. of Harwinton, CT; Kelly Garney of Torrington, CT; Carrie Torres of Torrington, CT; James Woolsey of Torrington, CT; Michael Woolsey of Morris, CT; Joseph Woolsey of Harwinton, CT; brothers Jerry Yorker and Charles Yorker; sisters Sharon Yorker, Donna Gay, and Raeanne Martin; 12 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren as well as many nieces, nephews and other relatives. She is preceded in death by her daughter, Mary Woolsey; her sister, Pat Griffin; and brother, Dennis Yorker.

The family would like to thank all of Sandra’s friends in the Villages for loving their mother while she resided here. A memorial service will be held at a later date in Sandra’s final resting place of Bantam, CT, where she and her husband raised their children.
