Obituary

Sandra Whittaker-Sanders, 61, of Port Orange, Florida, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loved ones. Born in Corby, England, Sandra brought light, kindness, and creativity into every corner of her life.

Sandra had a true gift for making things with her hands. She loved sewing and all things arts and crafts, taking joy in creating and sharing her projects with those she loved. She loved wildlife, especially eagles, and shared a special bond with the family dog, Pearl. Her gentle spirit, generosity, and willingness to lend a helping hand touched everyone who knew her.

She was deeply devoted to her family, the heart of her world, and was the most loving and dedicated mother to her daughters, Addison (19) and Emilee (22). Sandra’s love for her girls was immeasurable; she gave everything she had to ensure their happiness and success. When her daughters were in school, she spent countless hours volunteering at Sweetwater Elementary, giving her time and heart to support the teachers and students there. She is also survived by her devoted husband, Scott Sanders; her cherished mother, Emilee Stewart; and her loving sister, Dawn Langham. Sandra is also survived by her adored nieces and nephews.

A woman of adventure and compassion, Sandra lived a rich and full life. She was well-traveled and spent more than 30 years as a certified massage therapist. She had a deep love for nature and gardening, taking great pride in growing and propagating plants, nurturing life wherever she could. Her warmth, skill, and kindness left lasting impressions on everyone she met.

Family and friends are invited to celebrate Sandra’s beautiful life on Friday, November 7th at 2:00 p.m. at the Historic Dubsdread Ballroom, 549 W. Par St., Orlando, FL 32804.

Sandra will be remembered for her kindness, her beauty, both inside and out, and the love she shared with all who were lucky enough to know her.

Following the celebration, flowers will be shared with local hospice and cancer patients in Sandra’s honor.

I had the chance to stay with Sandra and her family years ago during an exchange program.

During those two weeks, Sandra welcomed me with such warmth and kindness that I’ve never forgotten it…

You loved your family and those around you so loudly and beautifully. Your daughters turned out the way they are because of you, & I’m honored to have them as a friend and support system.
